Tuesday, April 25th - programming
Mt. Milligan Mine Tour
This tour included a full run through of the mining processes used at Mount Milligan. Many noteworthy locations will be visited, such as the mine pit, the control room, and the processing plant. In addition, a discussion was held that covered the history of the site, how Mount Milligan was developed and how the site operates today.
Swiftwater and Frozen Surfaces: The Latest Techniques for Safe Field Work
This was a technical session on techniques that can be used to ensure one’s safety. In addition, individuals will be exposed to the various types of equipment that can be used to reduce risk while near swiftwater.
Prince George Geological Transect Tour
Members of the Prince George Exploration Group led a half day long geological transect across the Prince George district. The aim of this expedition was to explore and discuss the geological history and bedrock of the area, including the prospectivity of various economic minerals both locally and more regionally.
