Who’s Speaking at Minerals North 2024 - Kitimat!

You will leave this conference with a fulsome appreciation of what’s taking place in mineral exploration and mining in northern BC—key projects, large and small, trends, opportunities and resource development issues.

BC government Regional Geologists will provide overviews of northern British Columbia exploration and mining activity. Hear from companies with advanced projects such as Seabridge, Skeena Resources and Galore Creek Mining. Learn about promising exploration projects from companies such as Scottie Resources and FPX Nickel. Receive updates from the Association for Mineral Exploration (AME) and Geoscience BC. Plus bonus reports on happenings in the Kitimat area—Haisla economic development, Rio Tinto, Kitselas Geothermal project and LNG Canada.

Keynote Speakers for Minerals North 2024

Minerals North 2024 is thrilled to host renowned journalists Vaughn Palmer and Keith Baldrey sharing insights on provincial resource and economic development issues. Both have decades of experience following BC politics. Vaughn Plamer is the Vancouver Sun’s provincial political columnist. Keith Baldrey is chief political correspondent and legislative bureau chief for Global BC. They take the Minerals North stage together midday, Thursday, May 9 at the Riverlodge conference venue.


Pre-Conference Tours and Activities

Consider taking a pre-conference activity on Wednesday, May 8. Three options are on offer in Kitimat this year: a tour of the Rio Tinto aluminum smelter and the LNG Canada natural gas export facility ($75, max. 50 people); a 2 hour on water tour of Kitimat harbour and the north end of the Douglas Channel plus a visit to the Haisla Heritage Collection at the Kitimat Museum ($75, max. 50); and golf at the par 72 Hirsch Creek golf course ($100, max. 40).
