Let loose and explore life in Kitimat!
When registering, think about the ways you want to enjoy your time in the community. Your Wednesday, May 8 pre-conference options are:
A round of golf at Kitimat’s 18-hole course, the Hirsch Creek Golf and Winter Club. This stunningly picturesque course is set against the mountain ranges of the Kitimat Valley. You can enjoy the views while enjoying lunch at The Creek Bar & Grill on-site.
A closer look at Rio Tinto and LNG Canada’s elaborate operations. These facilities are the province’s economic powerhouses and we’re thrilled that you can get an up-close look at what makes them work. Afterwards enjoy a lunch and a pint at Two Peaks Brewing.
Hit the open sea with a two-hour guided tour on the Douglas Channel. Enjoy the sights of the saltwater channel, and follow that up with an exploration of the Haisla Heritage Collection at the Kitimat Museum & Archives, to learn more about the Nation on whose land we live and work. Lunch to follow at The Chalet Restaurant.
Upcoming geology and mining events you should know about.
