Gabe Jutras is Director, Operations and External Relations for Galore Creek Mining Corporation, a 50:50 Partnership between Teck Resources Limited and Newmont Corporation working to advance the Galore Creek Project, one of the world’s largest undeveloped copper-gold deposits. Once in production, the Galore Creek deposits are anticipated to increase Canada’s annual copper production by more than 30% compared to 2024 production rates.
Gabe has worked on the Project since 2017, in a range of capacities, including as the Site Manager, and as the Manager, Social, Environmental, and Regulatory Affairs. Gabe has played an integral role in positioning the Project to initiate a Major Regulatory Approval process, progress through a Prefeasibility study and subsequent Feasibility study, and advance towards a sanction decision. He brings significant mineral exploration, projects, and commercial experience, and has led the Project’s approach to building relationships with local communities.
Gabe is seconded to Galore Creek from Teck, where he has been an employee since 2010. He holds a B.Sc in Earth and Ocean Sciences from UBC, and spent his early career working as a geologist, primarily on mineral exploration projects in remote helicopter supported environments.
