A variety of workshops are being offered on Thursday afternoon. We are pleased to provide you with a short description in order to make your selection. Please note that these workshops are in the design stage and descriptions may be refined as agendas are finalized:
Workshop 1: Investing In Mining Stocks – Michael Campbell
This workshop is open to delegates and to the public.
Most of us would like to be successful investing in the markets but lack the experience and know-how to consistently make money. A vast majority of us make decisions based on emotion while the real professional trades with a strict discipline designed to manage risk, maximize reward and enhance profit. . On May 24, 2012, join us in a private workshop as B.C.’s most respected business analyst, Michael Campbell, explores specific techniques and investment strategies used by successful investors.
Michael has over 40 years of investment experience. He successfully called the low in gold, silver, uranium and base metals in 2001, 2002 and has used his understanding of investing in both large and small companies to make tens of thousands of followers significant profits in the subsequent years. While there is no magic bullet to building a successful portfolio, there are specific steps that anyone can learn to dramatically improve investment results. With emphasis on the junior mining sector, he will discuss how to pick winners, when to buy and sell, as well as share why individual investors are often their own worst enemies when it comes to making money.

Workshop 2: How do Local Suppliers Engage with Mines and Exploration Companies?
The session provides mining suppliers, exploration, mining companies and others associated with the mining industry with methods, tips and information on how to effectively market online. This session will provide you with free or low cost methods of online advertising that will allow you to be found by interested companies, partners and customers. Using these tools will increase your internet profile with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) methods that work. These methods of marketing allow expose yourself to current and potential customers.
Workshop 3: Getting to Know Your First Nations Neighbours – Betty Patrick, successful author and past Chief of Lake Babine Nation.
Insight on how First Nations history, political structure and customs influence today’s communities.
Workshop 4: Miners and Educators Breakout Session
This workshop will look at the collaborative attraction retention model developed by BC Aboriginal Mine Training Association, New Gold Inc. and Thompson Rivers University.
